Choosing A Local PR Company In Norwich

Several factors need to be considered when making a choice of public relations agency.  As all businesses are different with different needs, so are the PR agencies in Norwich who meet those needs

Generally, working with someone locally is advisable, as you can easily schedule meetings without too much problem.

Meetings play an important role, as there is a level of understanding that is needed about your business and your objectives.  This cannot really be communicated adequately by means of e-mail or on the ‘phone.

Meeting with an agency gives you a chance to visit their offices, meet the team see how they work, and obtain a feel for the culture of the agency.

At the meeting, you can discuss how to do a PR stunt.  PR stunts are arranged around either a local event in Norwich, or a national one, when you know the local or national media will be present, for them to photo you or video your stunt.

PR stunts when done right, are like marketing gold dust.  Today no-one knows your brand, tomorrow you are on the news, thanks to your PR stunt.

Choosing The Right Size PR Company

Selecting the right size of PR agency is also important.  If your business is small, then working with a freelancer is wise as their PR prices will be less.  Larger businesses need larger agencies that have more facilities and support resources.

Talking with local experts who have a background in your industry is also something that is advised. Firms that have previously worked for businesses similar to yours, and know your market place.  This has two main benefits:

  • There will be a level of understanding that will make communication much more efficient
  • The agency will already have established contacts within the industry media

Finding the right agency is not a simple process, but if you follow these simple rules, you should find the right agency for your business:

  • Local – meet them, get them to visit you and you visit them.
  • Experience – how well do they know your product/service?
  • Size – select a firm that is able to offer adequate support.
  • Cost – compare prices to ensure you are not paying more than you should

One thing to bear in mind is all PR agencies set their own fees.  There is no industry standard so PR prices vary considerably.  As a price comparison website, we want to help you find the best agency for the lowest price.

A Few Words About Norwich

It is the county town of Norfolk, in the east of England, and has a population of around 150,000 according to local council details.

The Romans established their regional capital about 5 miles south of Norwich.  However when the Anglo Saxons replaced the Romans, they settled in the current site and called the area ‘Northwic’, similarly a town ‘Westwic’.  Norwich gets its current name from a blend of the two, as the two settlements on either bank of the River Tas combined.

At the time of the Norman conquest and the Domesday Book of 1068, it is reported to have 25 churches and a population of 5 – 10,000.  The Normans built Norwich Castle in the traditional castle style of the time, a keep on a raised earthen work.  In 1144, it was the site of a Jewish massacre.  When all the Jews in the city were killed in reaction to a boy being found dead with stab wounds, and the Jews being blamed.

The area was known for weaving and wool production, which carried on right through history until recent years.  Brewing and manufacturing have also been big industries in the city.  In addition, Norwich is also known for shoemaking and also mustard, Colemans has been based in here since 1814.
